In this picture, published in American Architect Magazine, from the 1930s, we see the workmen readying the Sower for his ride to the top of the Nebraska State Capitol Building. TheSower may be the largest statue that Lawrie ever cast.

In the 1930s, there were no helicopters in general use to hoist him to the top, so it was done with block and tackle, and teams of horses straining westwardly on H Street.

He is 19 feet tall, perched atop a 13 foot-tall base, on top of the dome, which is 400 feet above the ground. He can be seen for nearly 20 miles.
